We Are On A Cruise~

Happy Sunday lovelies!!

Let's start with a confession with this first post: I've had this blog for about 2 years but evidently never gotten round to posting anything ^^" HOWEVER I have decided to actually put this post into use, and just blog bits and bobs of my life. I generally have a boring life but on the odd occasion, I do have somewhat interesting events. So hope you enjoyyy :3 Now shall we see how long I'll be able to keep this blog?

Quick self introduction; my name is Vivian Chan, 21 years old (turning 22 in about a months time), Chinese (evidently in surname), apparently have a "princess syndrome" and and I love food a bit way too much than I should.

Cheers to a good weekend.

-----------------------------------------
Yesterday may have been listed as best day of 2015 (so far). One Piece Music Symphony Orchestra at Cadogan Hall - that basically sums its up. If you are an "otaku" you'd probably know my feels for this event, it is better that we skip the details of my inner otaku excitement (I don't want to be scaring you guys off in the first post). Anyways..swiftly moving on; this day would not have happened if it wasn't for my amazing boyfriend who miraculously found this event, so thank you my dear NJDA <33

Kohei Tanaka, the composer of One Piece himself, came to London and joined teams with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra for this particular performance. The tickets ranged from £35-£55 depending on chosen seating area - as I wanted the best view I could get for this once in a lifetime event, had to get the most expensive ticket. Our view was pretty amazing, facing directly in front of the projector screen and orchestra crew (picture reference below). We booked the tickets via the Cadogan Hall website itself 4 months before, you can imagine how much I was looking forward to this.

Now let me tell you this, the performance did not disappoint at all. The performance was phenomenal, it was so surreal listening to what you usually hear in the anime, live. Could not have asked for a better list of music, even the clips was perfectly in sync. Clips from "Going Merry Funeral", Robin and Ennies Lobby arc, Ace's death, 3D2Y and more. I was surprised I did not cry at any point during the performance, however, I did have my teary moments - in particular when Kohei Tanaka played the piano for "Going Merry Funeral". Kohei Tanaka literally threw himself out to provide the best performance ever - playing the piano, singing while involving the audience by encouraging us to sing along (We Are, We Go, and Bink's no Sake), conducting, and 2 encore songs at the end. He really is the best!!
The performance started at 8pm, although we were already out and about from 11:30am as my boyfriend doesn't live in London, and I only see him once a week because he works full-time. Basically we had a lot of time to kill, and the best way to kill time is to bounce from one restaurant to another cos gurl loves her fooooood (no shame at all). Restaurants we visited included: Browns Bar and Brasserie (Victoria branch), and Cote Brasserie (Sloane Square branch).
Traditional Afternoon Tea for 2 at Browns Bar
Risotto at Cote

I do not advice having afternoon tea 2 hours before your dinner because DANGG! Although we had to eat something before the orchestra, even if it was something light. We were technically not allowed to take any videos or pictures once the performance started, but I had to take a sly picture of Kohei Tanaka at one point! It just had to be done. Wish you guys were here to experience this orchestra performance with me because words does not explain how amazing it was.
